2026/2027 Policy Summary and Fee Schedule

Brooks Music Studio offers piano, violin and other instrument lessons with a comprehensive policy covering certification, attendance, tuition and student participation. The studio emphasizes community involvement, consistent progress and clear communication between teacher, students and parents.
  • Teacher qualifications and affiliations: Tanya Brooks is nationally, and state certified in music teaching with primary and secondary instruments and is active in several music teacher associations, enabling student participation in competitions and community concerts.
  • Student participation and community service: Students can join yearly competitions, auditions and a spring concert series held at the Bay County Public Library, which also counts toward community service hours.
  • Attendance and missed lessons policy: Regular attendance is required, with no credit for missed lessons; however, extra teaching time from no-shows may be used to compensate for cancellations or teacher absences. Make-up lessons are at the teacher’s discretion.
  • Health and online lessons: Sick students should not attend in person but may participate via the RockOutLoud.live platform if mildly ill, with parental availability required during lessons.
  • Privacy and media use: Student photos and videos may be posted on social media or as unlisted YouTube videos without names unless permission is denied.
  • Materials and library lending: Students pay for lesson materials and fees related to events; the teacher lends instruments and books, which must be cared for or replaced at the student’s expense if lost or damaged.
  • Concerts and parking: The annual spring concert is voluntary with no participation fee and parking near the studio has specific rules to avoid damage to property.
  • Tuition and registration fees: Tuition covers 32 lessons per school year with options for yearly, semester, or monthly payments; a nonrefundable registration fee supports various teaching expenses and resources.
  • Dismissal and termination: Students may be dismissed for late tuition payments, persistent absences or lack of progress; a month’s notice is requested for lesson termination with pro-rated tuition.
